Google Ads specialist
Google Ads consultant for service businesses
Need an experienced second opinion on your Google Ads account, but want to keep the work in-house? I help business owners and marketing teams make decisions about campaign strategy, lead quality, budgets, and measurement.
I’m Roman Grigorian, an independent Google Ads consultant and freelancer. I’ve worked with Google Ads since 2013, primarily helping service businesses generate leads. You can work with me on a specific question or get ongoing advice while you or your team implement the changes.
This is a paid consulting service, separate from Google’s own support. You work directly with me, and we agree on the scope and fee before starting.
When consulting is a good fit
Consulting works best when someone on your side can manage the account but needs help deciding what to do next. That might be you, an in-house marketer, or an existing agency whose recommendations you want to discuss independently.
- You are getting leads, but too few turn into customers. You want to understand whether the problem is targeting, measurement, the offer, or what happens after an inquiry.
- You are considering a significant change. You need a second opinion before increasing spend, restructuring campaigns, changing bidding, or testing a different campaign type.
- Your team needs experienced guidance. They can make changes, but need help choosing priorities and evaluating results.
- You are preparing to launch. You want to discuss the budget, campaign plan, landing pages, and tracking before your team starts spending.
My PPC consulting focuses on lead generation for service businesses, including moving companies, other home and local services, and professional services. I am not the right fit for an ecommerce Shopping strategy or a general course on every Google Ads feature.
Two ways to work with me
One-off Google Ads consultation
A focused consultation is useful when you have a specific decision or a short list of questions. For example, you may want to discuss a proposed account restructure, understand why reported conversions do not match your sales records, or decide what to test before increasing the budget.
We agree on the questions and preparation in advance, then work through the relevant account information together. The aim is to make the next decision clearer: what I recommend, why, and what you should check after implementing it. This is not a full review of every part of the account.
Ongoing advisory for you or your team
Ongoing consulting is for businesses that want continued input without handing over day-to-day management. I help you prioritize work, discuss proposed changes, and review what happened after implementation. Your team remains responsible for making changes and monitoring the account between our agreed check-ins.
We agree on the cadence, communication, and scope before starting. This can be useful while improving lead tracking, testing a new campaign approach, or helping an in-house marketer take more responsibility for the account.
What we can work through
Lead quality and business results
A lower cost per lead is not always an improvement. I want to understand what counts as a conversion, which inquiries are relevant, and how many become quotes, appointments, or booked jobs. That context helps us decide whether to change the advertising or investigate what happens after the lead arrives.
For example, a moving company could receive more quote requests while booking fewer profitable moves. Before recommending more budget, I would compare local and long-distance inquiries, service-area fit, and booking outcomes. This is the kind of question we can work through using your campaign data and sales feedback.
Campaign strategy and budget decisions
We can discuss campaign structure, keyword match types, search terms, negative keywords, location targeting, bidding, and the split between services or markets. The question is which setup fits your budget and the evidence in your account, not which setup sounds most advanced.
If you are considering broad match or Performance Max, I would first look at the quality of your conversion data, the demand you need to reach, and how you will judge the test. I do not recommend more automation simply because it is available. We should be clear about what we are testing and what would justify keeping or reversing the change.
Conversion tracking and useful reporting
We can review how calls and forms are measured, whether reported conversions represent real leads, and what additional information is needed from your CRM or booking system. I can help your team define what to track and how to use it when evaluating campaigns.
Advice on the measurement plan is different from implementing it. If you need hands-on technical work, we can scope that separately through my Google Tag Manager services.
Landing pages and the lead journey
Sometimes the next useful change is outside Google Ads. We can look at whether the landing page matches the search, explains the service area, gives people a reason to trust the business, and makes calling or requesting a quote straightforward.
I also want to know what happens after someone submits a form or calls. If inquiries are missed or sales outcomes never make it back into the reporting, campaign metrics alone will give us an incomplete picture.
Consulting, an audit, or ongoing management?
These services solve different problems. The main distinction is whether you need help with selected decisions, a comprehensive diagnosis, or someone to take responsibility for execution.
| Service | Choose it when | Who implements changes? |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads consulting | You need focused advice or ongoing guidance for the person running the account. | You or your team; hands-on work is scoped separately. |
| Google Ads audit | You need a full account review, a detailed report, and prioritized recommendations. | Implementation is separate from the audit. |
| Google Ads management | You want me to run, optimize, and monitor the campaigns. | I handle the agreed management work. |
If you cannot identify the main problem and want everything checked, an audit is usually the better starting point. If you already know what you need help deciding, a consultation may be enough.
How we get started
- Tell me about the business and the decision. Share your website, target market, approximate monthly ad spend, who manages the account, and the questions you want to answer.
- Agree on a useful scope. I will suggest a one-off consultation, ongoing advisory, or a different service if that better matches the problem. We agree on the fee and any preparation before starting.
- Review the relevant evidence. Depending on the question, this may involve account access, selected reports, landing pages, or lead and sales information. Read-only access is enough for account review; you do not need to share your password.
- Decide on next steps. We work through the recommendations, their tradeoffs, and how to evaluate them. With ongoing advisory, we return to the results and adjust priorities as your team implements the work.
Advice grounded in hands-on account work
I also manage Google Ads accounts directly, so my consulting is grounded in the practical work of reviewing search terms, testing changes, and discussing lead quality with business owners. I focus on understanding the business behind the campaign rather than treating every account as the same optimization exercise.
My moving company case study shows how that approach has informed campaign structure and optimization in a managed account. It is an example of my management work, not a promise of what a consultation will achieve.
Questions about Google Ads consulting
Can you advise me while my agency keeps managing the account?
Yes. We can discuss a specific recommendation or performance question without changing who manages the campaigns. I will need enough context to assess the decision fairly. If you want a comprehensive independent review of the agency’s work, choose an audit rather than trying to fit that into a focused consultation.
Can you help if I have not launched Google Ads yet?
Yes. We can discuss whether the proposed budget, campaign structure, landing pages, and tracking are ready for a useful launch. Without account history, recommendations involve more assumptions, so we should define what the initial test needs to establish. Building and running the campaigns is a separate scope.
Do you work with businesses in the United States?
Yes. I am based in Ukraine and work remotely, primarily with U.S. service businesses. We can agree on a time that works across time zones; an in-person meeting is not required.
How much does consulting cost?
The fee depends on the questions, preparation, and whether you need a one-off consultation or ongoing advice. Send me the context and I will confirm the scope and price before you commit. There is no need to sign up for monthly campaign management to get consulting help.
Start with the question you need answered
Before getting in touch, write down the decision you are trying to make and what evidence you have so far. Your website, approximate ad spend, and a short description of the problem are a useful starting point. From there, we can decide whether focused consulting, a full audit, or hands-on management is the right next step.
